A concrete church with a 40-metre tower designed by Witold Cęckiewicz, consecrated in 1987 in Nowa Huta.
The Church of Divine Mercy on the Na Wzgórzach estate in Nowa Huta is a concrete church with a soaring form, designed by Witold Cęckiewicz. It stands at os. Na Wzgórzach 1a, in the Wzgórza Krzesławickie district.
The idea of dividing the large Nowa Huta parishes appeared at the end of the 1970s, and permission and a location were issued in May 1980. Cęckiewicz's design was approved a year later, and in October 1981 Cardinal Franciszek Macharski established the parish. Construction began in 1982. Because of the waterlogged ground, 224 foundation piles 13 m long were driven. The foundation stone was blessed by John Paul II in June 1983, and the consecration took place on 7 June 1987.
The church is a single space, without a division into aisles. The tower is 40 m high and is crowned by a 10-metre cross. On its first level is the Chapel of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. In 1985 three bells were hung. The church has an organ with 33 stops, built in 1961 by Albert Reiser for a church in Heilbronn and bought in 1994. The church lies not far from Jan Matejko's Manor in Krzesławice.
