Church of Our Lady of Fatima in Rożnowice

The Church of Our Lady of Fatima stands in the centre of Rożnowice in Gorlice County. It belongs to the parish of St Andrew the Apostle, the Biecz deanery and the Diocese of Rzeszów.

Construction

Plans for the church appeared as early as 1914, but were interrupted by the Battle of Gorlice and the matter waited about 80 years. It was taken up again after the fire of the Church of St Andrew the Apostle in 1992. The site was blessed on 4 August 1993 by Bishop Kazimierz Górny, and the foundation stone was laid on 1 October 1995. The design is by the architect-engineer from Tarnów Maciej Nejman. Construction lasted from 1993 to 1997, and the consecration took place on 17 August 1997.
