The Church of Our Lady of the Angels stands in Kowaniec, in Nowy Targ, and is the church of the parish of the same name. It was built in 1984-1988 and was consecrated only in 2002.

A foundation stone from the Pope

The foundation stone for the construction was blessed by Pope John Paul II during his second journey to Poland, in 1983. It was laid by Cardinal Franciszek Macharski. The church was designed by the architect Tadeusz Jędrysko.

Interior

The figure of Our Lady of the Angels in the altar and the Stations of the Cross were made by Władysław Flis. In 2017 relics of St Rita were brought into the church. In July 2019 the side entrance to the church was rebuilt, creating a chapel of St John Paul II and St Rita there.
