A Romantic chapel from 1875 in the western part of the former Potocki park, with a lapidarium on its walls.
The Chapel of St Stanislaus the Bishop stands in the western part of the former Potocki palace park in Krzeszowice. It is a small, Romantic building from the 19th century, entered in the register of immovable monuments of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship.
The chapel was built in 1875 by Tomasz Dudek, a valet on the Potocki estate, to his own design. He bought a plot at the time and put up a small house next to the chapel. In 1908 he handed the property over to the Congregation of the Mission (Vincentians). The missionaries built a holiday house for seminarians from Kraków on the neighbouring plot, which was later turned into the Vincentinum Missionary Formation Centre. In 1918-1939 a women's vestibule (babiniec) was added to the chapel.
The chapel walls are decorated with Gothic and Baroque details in sandstone and Dębnik limestone, together with a commemorative plaque, which together form a lapidarium. The interior was made in 1971 to a design by J. Zgrzebnicka. Next to the chapel lies a boulder with a plaque dedicated to its builder.
