Kraków, ul. Karmelicka 46, Kraków
About Tenement House at Karmelicka 46 in Kraków

An Art Nouveau tenement house from 1910-1911 with a listed façade and stained glass in the staircase.

The tenement house at ul. Karmelicka 46 is an Art Nouveau rental building in Piasek, in Kraków's Stare Miasto district. It was built in 1910-1911 as a three-storey tenement house to a design by Aleksander Biborski.

Façade and protection

The front façade was entered in the heritage register on 8 February 2016, and in 2017 it underwent conservation renovation.

Stained glass in the staircase

Inside, a group of Art Nouveau stained-glass windows has survived: in the staircase windows, on the first, second and third half-landings. They show, in turn, sunflowers, poppies and lilies, in rectangular panels of ornamental glass with elements painted on the glass. The sources do not say whether the staircase is accessible to outsiders, so assume that you will see only the façade.
