About Laskowa Manor House

A wooden Baroque manor house from before 1677 with a polychrome chapel, a granary and a park with natural monuments.

The wooden manor house in Laskowa Dolna dates from before 1677 and is a Baroque monument. It was built for the Laskowski family, and its most valuable part is the manor chapel.

Owners and history

The manor house belonged in turn to the family of the Nowy Sącz land judge Laskowski, then to the bishops of Kraków, and to the Skrzyński and Żochowski families. Today it is owned by the Michałowski family. In 1945 it became the quarters of the commander of the 1st Ukrainian Front, Marshal Ivan Konev. The village of Dolna Laskowa is mentioned in an inventory of 1687, which lists by the manor house bakeries, stables, barns, granaries and a brewery.

The building and its surroundings

The single-storey building on a rectangular plan has log walls and a hipped mansard roof in the Polish style. The most valuable part is the chapel with polychrome religious motifs and a ceiling. Nearby stand a granary and brick stables, and the whole is surrounded by a park with old trees, some of which are classed as natural monuments. Beside it is a wayside shrine of St John of Nepomuk.
