19th-century manor house in Borek Szlachecki, ruined in the communist period and rebuilt after 1997 by a private company.
The manor house in Borek Szlachecki, in Skawina municipality, is a 19th-century building that was altered many times and, after years of destruction, was rebuilt at the end of the 20th century.
In 1890 the village was owned by Baron Andrzej Konopka, and in the 1920s by Stefan Schmidt. After the Second World War, until the 1990s, a production cooperative called “Przełom” operated in the building. According to the source, it brought the building to complete ruin.
In 1997 a private construction company bought the ruined manor building and a grain store and rebuilt them. During the works, balconies supported on pillars were added at the front and the side, so the manor's present appearance differs from the former one.
The sources do not say what the manor house is used for today or whether one can go inside, so treat it as a site viewed from the outside. Nearby are the manor house in Radziszów and the palace in Paszkówka, and the monastery in Tyniec is about 6 kilometres away.
