Górka Kościelnicka Cemetery

Kraków
About Górka Kościelnicka Cemetery

A working parish cemetery from 1820 in Nowa Huta, with an Austrian war cemetery from the First World War.

Górka Kościelnicka Cemetery lies in the north-eastern part of Kraków, in Nowa Huta. It is a parish cemetery founded in 1820.

History

It was founded for the parish of All Saints, for the residents of Węgrzynowice, Kościelniki, Cło and Wolica, after the churchyard cemetery was closed. A separate part of it is War Cemetery No. 393, an Austrian one from the First World War.

Chapel and crosses

A chapel stands in the cemetery, in which a former parish priest is buried. Mass is celebrated in it on All Saints' Day. In the neighbouring ravine, old cemetery crosses have been gathered, on the initiative of the parish priest.
